Spring 2020... Nothing to do but blawg

Damn I am just not good at keeping up with the blawg. I’m still gonna keep trying to get better at it since I pay for the dang thing, lol.

So here we are Spring 2020! Good times all around as the world comes to a halt due to the corona virus scaring everybody’s pants off.

I’m hoping the entire saga ends within a few weeks and we get back to ‘normal’ whatever that is!

In the meantime, try not to freak out, turn off the tv, get off social media and try and keep your local businesses up and running by supporting them as much as you can, and if you have any small bands that you love and want see to keep going, maybe go to their website and buy a CD or a t-shirt. With touring completely stopped, a lot of bands are really struggling with this situation.

Until next time amigos!

2019 Second Half Update

Hola Mi Amigos!

Well we’re heading into the Fall of 2019 and so far it’s been a great year. I hope it’s been great for you too!

I’ve had some awesome performances at several of my favorite brewery venues including Seven Saws in Holden MA, Stone Cow in Barre MA and Rapscallion out in good ol’ Sturbridge MA.

I want to express my gratitude towards everybody at those venues for having me in to perform my music! It really means a lot.

I’ve been learning some new tunes to keep the set-list fresh. Hopefully I can get a few shows booked to round out 2019!

See you out there!

Poor neglected blawg

Oh hey happy 2019 every-body! I’m a little behind.. Ya think?? Haha.

I’m going to put more effort into writing posts and keeping this blog fresh. I do pay for it after all!! I’ll elaborate on that later in this post.

2019 has been going very well for my music.  I’ve had several super fun shows at Seven Saws Brewing and Stone Cow Brewery

Tonight I’ll be back at Rapscallion Brewery (noticing a beer related trend?) for the first time in 2109 and I’m really looking forward to it!

The last time I was there I still had my old back-breaking guitar rig with two big heavy amps and no roller cart. I’ve since replaced those two 50 pound + amps with two super light and easy to carry ones, and the addition of a rock n roller cart lets me load in to the venue with two trips.

At one point last year I had started to lose interest in playing shows because it was literally killing me to get all of my heavy gear out of my house, then into the venue, then at the end of the show do the whole thing in reverse.

Problem solved!! Music is fun. It’s a great outlet and I’m glad that I’m still able to get out and play!

Now as to what I alluded to earlier.. over the last few months I’ve pretty much abandoned Twitter. I still have an account and post occasionally but I plan to use this blog as my personal Twitter. These blog posts will also cross post to Twitter so if you came here from there, hello!

I’m still pretty active on Instagram and post pictures that I hope are interesting pretty regularly.

Thanks for reading. I hope to see you at a show soon!

Webpage update!

OK! I've updated my web page with a few changes to spruce the place up a bit!

Grey Morning Light was released over two years ago so it was time to update the theme!

Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments or on the sosh-nets (aka social media)!

I'm hoping to book a few shows before the end of 2018. A lot of spots have their calendars filled out by now but you never know if something might open up. PMA!!

Time for a refresh!

Grey Morning Light has been out for over 2 years (!!) and I think it’s time to update the look of this site!

Look for some changes coming soon!

Speaking of changes I’ve made improvements to my standalone performance rig and replaced my 80’s vintage Crate G-212 guitar amp with a Fender Rumble 40 bass amp.

This will be used to amplify my tapping left foot and gives me that ‘kick drum’ sound while strumming and shouting.

I’m hoping to get some shows booked for the Fall so people can hear the improvement!!

As always I’ll try to post more often!

Blog blog blog

Wow no posts since January!

I need to step up my blogging game.

Well it’s June tomorrow and the 1st half of 2018 was very successful for my music.

My residency at The Tavern on the Common was great and I really enjoyed playing there twice a month.

I was able to use the money I earned playing to invest in a new guitar amp that is significantly easier to carry (only one arm required!) but it still kicks ass and has great tone for acoustic or electric guitars.

I’m going to look into a one arm capable bass amp for my stomp board at some point as well!

Moving forward I’m gonna try and post more often on here now that I have the mobile blog app and try not to focus all of my posts solely on my musical ventures... We’ll see how that goes!

Testing out the squarespace blog app

Hi!

I'm trying out the Squarespace blogging app on my phone. If it works ok hopefully I'll be posting more often. I do like to post but never think to because I'm usually too busy or not at my computer.

Well we'll see how it goes!

While I'm here, just a reminder to check the shows tab. I added several dates for late summer and early fall!

Happy 2017! Lets rock.

Wow I have not posted in several months! I need to work on keeping this little blog updated a bit more often!

I couldn't let January go by without posting a welcome to 2017 message!

I hope this will great year for everyone reading.

2016 was a very eventful year for me music-wise after releasing my second album, "Grey Morning Light". It got great reviews and I am very happy with how it turned out. (Just a reminder you can listen to all of the tracks for free. Just click the 'Music' Link.)

In 2017 I'm going to try and improve on my guitar playing / foot tapping and vocals, learn a few new tunes and hopefully complete some half-finished originals for a future album. I'm hoping I can play a few more shows as well! I've got my stand-alone rig dialed in right now.

If there is an artist you'd like to hear me cover, let me know! You can contact me under the 'Contact' link, or just leave a comment. I recently learned a Steve Earle song after someone asked if I could play one at a recent show. It's that easy!

In addition to playing the hits I've been trying to think of some unexpected artists I can put my personal spin on like Dio or Ice T. I like to keep you on your toes.
